Our Friends at Primal Food and Spirits have found an awesome way to indulge in the bounty of summer produce. They are hosting a dinner featuring awesome local grown tomatoes in every course, from appetizer to dessert. With all the great produce we see in North Carolina over the summer months, the fresh, juicy, luscious tomatoes grown in our area are some of the favorites on local menus. Throw in some good protein cooked in Primal's wood fired oven, and some of our favorite summer wines selected by yours truly, and this should be an awesome way to spend a midsummer's eve. We originally planned this as a July Dinner, which sold out, but we've added this second dinner in August. It will be a different menu from the first dinner, just following the same theme.

Summer Produce Vegetarian Wine Dinner

We're got another great dinner in the planning stages for August. On Tuesday the 25th, we are going to partner with Chef Amy Tornquist and staff for a dinner celebrating the bounty of summer produce. And to follow that theme to it's full degree, we've decided to make it a Vegetarian dinner from beginning to end. Each wonderful animal free course will really highlight the variety and complexity of vegetarian cuisine. For our vegan friends out there, the kitchen will be well prepared with fully vegan options available for every course. Please do let the restaurant know if you'll be wanting the vegan options when you make your reservation. I will be pairing some gorgeous wines, and am working hard to find wines to use that are vegan as well. (To find out what makes a wine vegan, you'll just have to come to the dinner!) All in all, it should be one of our most exciting dinners of the year. We should have the menu soon, so please check back!

Four Square Restaurant
3rd Annual Rosé Wine Dinner

We had a phenomenal time last week at Four Square as Chef Ingram and company put on an amazing feast. Now our attention turns to our second dinner of the summer with the fine Four Square crowd, with our 3rd annual Rosé Wine Dinner. Maitre d' Brandon Carr and I selected a wonderful lineup of wines running the gambit of flavors and grapes, but all with soft pink color and engaging fruit tones. Chef Ingram is hard at working putting together the perfect pairings, and we should hopefully have that menu ready to show you next week! Until then though, here are the selected wines:
